A s Keerthi Chawla in a black shimmering outfit sets the stage on fire with a chartbuster Naacho rey, a family glued to their television set cheers her loud by singing in chorus the Yamadonga number. It is dancing Monday and Tuesday on television at 9 p.m. as the numerological-balanced reality show Naacho Rrey gets underway on Zee Telugu.

For a medium that has now become synonymous with reality shows, Naacho Rrey promises to stand out in the growing crowd. “Song and dance shows on television are here to stay. We have seen participants from all walks of life entertaining the audience. Naacho Rrey has gone one step further and we have roped in celebrity participants,” says Shivaram Apte, producer and director of the show. The dancers who jive on the dance floor are all actresses with big screen and even small screen appearances to boast of. Naacho Rrey is on the lines of Nach Baliye, the popular Hindi dance show on TV, where every dancer is accompanied with a choreographer as they sizzle on the screen.

“When two people disagree on a point, there is bound to be some drama. But there is nothing which is cooked up to boost the TRPs,” says Anita Apte, associate producer of the show. Adds Shivaram, “These girls have always been the best and been complimented that way. Now, they are competing to be best among the best.”

Some of the participants include Karishma Kotak (who acted along with Chiranjeevi for Shankardada Zindabad) and Uday, Tanu Roy ( Itlu Sravani Subramanyam) and her choreographer Suresh Verma, Lahari (who acted in Malayalam films and Chiranjeevi's Indra ) and her choreographer Shetty amongst others. The judges for the show are actress-turned-politician Roja and popular choreographer Noble Master. The competition builds up the excitement as the new episodes go on air. “The contest will be quite exciting once the elimination gets underway,” promise its makers.
