There have not been many hits in the first half of this year, so channels thriving on Hindi films have a hard time. In this scenario, a relatively new player UTV Movies has acquired the television rights for two of the three blockbusters of 2008 — Jodhaa Akbar and Jannat.
The first one starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar received an outstanding worldwide response and was declared the first blockbuster of this year. Jannat starring Emraan Hashmi also received rave reviews and been declared a big hit. The movie boasts of excellent music, which has been composed by Pritam.
The channel will also be premiering Rajeev Khandelwal’s debut movie Aamir, which has received excellent reviews from critics across the countryThe movie will air on television within six weeks of its theatrical release.
Further, the channel will premiere Halla Bol, Rajkumar Santoshi’s hard-hitting entertainer with memorable performances by Ajay Devgan and Pankaj Kapur, in July.
