Yesteryear hero Suresh is playing well-etched character roles in many films. From 1981 till date, he has appeared in 274 films, of which 110 have been in Tamil. For a large part of his initial years in the industry, he was the most sought-after lover boy. Says Suresh: “I was dying to shed that image and after Pudhu Vasantham , I moved to Telugu films where I got to play a variety of roles, especially comic and those with negative shades. I’ve now decided to do more roles like the one I played in Kaadhalil Sodappuvadu Eppadi. I am playing a visually challenged villain in the remake of Sattam Oru Iruttarai , as Nakul’s father in Naan Rajavaga Pogiren, and the latest a quirky politician in director Vijay Adiraj’s Puthagam .” Currently, Suresh has four Telugu and two Tamil films in his kitty and he seems to be thoroughly enjoying his second innings. “It is a welcome change from dancing and romancing. I’d love to do any kind of role that adds value to the storyline,” says Suresh.
