Suryadev (Kabir Bedi) is the emperor of Suryadesh. He goes to Pushpapuri to get married to Princess Nandini (Aruna Irani) but ends up marrying her maid, Meenakshi (Indrani Mukherjee), as he falls in love with her. They have a son Vikramdev. But, Nandini is not able to forget the insult and plots her revenge with the aid of Mahendra (Ranjeet), a sorcerer. Using his powers, he changes Suryadev and Meenakshi into a necklace and beggar respectively and becomes the emperor. Meanwhile, Vikramdev (Vinod Khanna) escapes and grows up in the jungle where a herd of elephants takes care of him. Also stars Neetu Singh.
