Steep losses in Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank on Friday dragged Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark index Sensex to a three-week low of 19781.19. On similar lines, the National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, fell below the 6,000-mark as tepid earnings and the RBI’s draft guidelines on bank provisioning requirements hit market sentiment.
The 30-share Sensex fell by 113.79 points to end at 19781.19.
The broad-based Nifty lost 35.85 points to end at 5998.90.
