The BSE benchmark Sensex, on Friday, retreated from six-week high levels to close 120.13 points lower at 19286.72, snapping a four-session upmove, hit by profit-booking in Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, HUL and SBI shares amid a weak global trend.
The Sensex resumed lower at 19376 and hovered in a range of 19384.95-19249.75 before ending at 19286.72, showing a loss of 120.13 points.
The NSE 50-share Nifty dropped by 44.85 points to 5871.45.
Rupee down 15 paise
Erasing early gains, the rupee on Friday ended 15 paise lower at 54.37 on month-end dollar demand from importers and heavy capital outflows, amid weak domestic stocks. — PTI
