NEW DELHI: Anil Dhirubhai Ambani owned Reliance Energy Limited (REL) said that its consolidated net profit for the year ended March 31, 2008, stood at Rs. 1,178 crore against Rs. 834 crore a year ago, recording a jump of 41 per cent.

Total income rose to Rs. 9,760 crore from Rs. 7,775 crore a year ago, a jump of 26 per cent.

The company’s board has approved payment of final dividend of Rs. 6.3 per share amounting to a payout of Rs. 173 crore. REL’s standalone net profit for the year ended March 31, 2008, stood at Rs. 1,085 crore against Rs. 801 crore a year ago, a jump of 35 per cent.

Its standalone total income was higher at Rs. 7,501 crore against Rs. 6,575 crore, a rise of 14 per cent.

REL’s standalone net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008, was Rs. 311 crore against Rs. 237 crore in the comparable period in the previous year, an increase of 31 per cent.

Total income was Rs. 1,977 crore against Rs. 1,890 crore, a rise of five per cent.

Reliance Natural

Reliance Natural Resources Limited has reported a net profit of Rs. 10.60 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008, a 44 per cent growth over the corresponding period last year. The net profit was Rs. 7.30 crore in the corresponding quarter.

For the fiscal ended March 31, 2008, it earned a net profit of Rs. 68.60 crore against Rs. 28.87 crore in the year-ago period.

Total income rose to Rs. 202.80 crore from Rs. 150.30 crore.
