Mahindra Satyam has made a foray into retail and consumer technology verticals when it announced the acquisition of BPO firm vCustomer's international operations.
The deal, involving a consideration of $27 million, marks the first 100 per cent acquisition by Mahindra Satyam since it became part of the Mahindra Group. The acquisition is expected to further strengthen the company's ability to address the needs of evolving markets by leveraging vCustomer's expertise in retail and customer technology and Mahindra Satyam's customer base and expertise.
Mahindra Satyam Chief Executive Officer C. P. Gurnani, in a release, described the acquisition as a landmark moment in the resurgence of Mahindra Satyam and it reflected the appetite to enhance domain depth across diverse verticals of the company.
The deal was in line with the company's global operating model facilitating seamless integration and smooth transition of processes and associates.
