CHENNAI: Madras Cements has reported a net profit of Rs. 353.68 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010 against Rs. 363.87 crore. The company has achieved a total income of Rs. 2,813.80 crore against Rs. 2,464.28 crore. The directors have announced a final dividend of 50 paise per share, making with the interim a total of Rs. 2 per share (same). According to a release, the company has decided to put up a second unit at Ariyalur with a capacity of 2 million tonnes at a cost of Rs. 630 crore.
