CHENNAI: Louis Philippe, a leader in super-premium men’s apparel of Madura Garments (a division of Aditya Birla Nuvo), has expanded its footprint in Tamil Nadu by introducing the brand ‘Luxure’ in the luxury clothing and accessories market.

A range of exclusive products has been showcased at its newly opened showroom at Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai in Chennai. Louis Philippe’s existing exclusive showrooms are located in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

The store at Chennai, spread over 5,500 sq. ft. with world-class ambience, houses three brands — Luxure, Louis Philippe and LP Sport.

In an interaction with The Hindu, Vishak Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Louis Philippe, said Luxure had been conceptualised with utmost care and craftsmanship, after studying the Indian market intensively and researching the changes in lifestyle. “Every shirt bears a story”, he said. Besides corporate CEOs, the marriage segment was the other big market for these products, Mr. Vishak Kumar said. With design and styling inspirations, Luxure is the exclusive range for the discerning few, he said.

Price range

The showroom has ‘Luxure’ brand shirts ranging from Rs.3,500 to Rs.9,900 and suits from Rs.16,500 to Rs.64,500.

Though there was a slowdown in demand in the beginning of the year, the growth in apparel retail market was good since October, he said.

According to Somak Dhar, Marketing Manager, Louis Philippe, Chennai’s large industrial set-up and the IT and ITeS sectors provided a consumer base of entrepreneurs and professionals and “the need-gap of such a portfolio is pronounced”.

The national roll-out of Luxure across various distribution formats will be in a phased manner over the next year.
