In keeping with the subdued price trend in global markets, the government on Thursday reduced the import tariff value of gold to $466 from $472 per 10 gram pegged a month ago.

Likewise, in the case of silver, the tariff value, which is the base price on which customs duty is determined to prevent under-invoicing, also stands marginally reduced to $761 from $762 a kg.

According to an official release here, the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), through a notification in this regard, has raised the tariff value of crude palm oil to $831 from $827 per tonne.

However, the tariff value of RBD palm oil stands reduced to $836 from $857 per tonne.
