HYDERABAD: Freight Organisation of Related Cargo Experts (FORCE), a world-wide association of independent freight forwarders with a presence in 40 nations, is looking at an over 20 per cent increase in container traffic volumes this fiscal, said newly-elected president Capt. P.V.K. Mohan, CMD, Seaways Shipping Limited (SSL).

At a press conference on the sidelines of the three-day 29th annual FORCE Congress here on Monday, he said the sector had witnessed a growth of 18.2 per cent in container movement last fiscal.

For the first time, the annual FORCE Congress was being held in India and the Day One of the three-day event saw the annual general meeting and the election of new office-bearers.

Immediate Past President William Lim from Malaysia said the other office-bearers included John White from South Africa as Vice-President and four executive committee members — Doreen Bonnici (U.S.), Andreas Rossi (Italy), Diego Van Domselaar (Argentina) and Kevin Chang from China.
