KOCHI: A certificate course in Professional Retailing Skills (PRS) conducted by the city-based SB Global in collaboration with the Retailers' Association of India (RAI) was inaugurated here on Wednesday. Cochin University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor P.K. Adul Aziz inaugurated the programme.

Chairman and Managing Director of SB Global R. Balachandran said that organised retailing would require about two million people in the next two years and that there were great career opportunities in the retailing sector.

Gibson G. Vedamani, Chief Executive Officer of RAI, said the Association was keen to develop the right learning and training modules at the entry level.

He said that a boom in organised retailing was on and there was a large demand for trained personnel.
