Sustained thrust into rural and institutional markets planned
MUMBAI: Bunge India Private Limited, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Bunge Limited, on Monday unveiled a new range of Dalda edible oils, in two variants refined soyabean oil and refined sunflower oil.

On Dalda's entry into the western edible oil market, Adhiraj Sarin, Managing Director, Bunge India, said, "India is our most important vegetable oil market with outstanding growth opportunities. Our core mission is to become the leading edible oils company in India."
Mr. Sarin said, "India is deficient in oilseed production and imports up to 50 per cent of its edible oil requirements."
Bunge's new brand strategy will include relaunch of the mother brand in Vanaspati Dalda roll out into packaged edible oils, development of a sustained thrust into rural and institutional markets, and extension into other cooking media such as ghee and margarine Commenting on the brand strategy for Dalda, Mr. Sarin said, "While Bunge will attempt to consolidate the apparent yet underdeveloped power of Dalda Vanaspati, we also plan to enter categories where we are not present in order to leverage Bunge's global strengths."
