KOCHI: The Thrissur-based Dhanalakshmi Bank, with its new logo and a changed spelling of its name (Dhanlaxmi), plans to be among the top five banks in the country over the next four years, bank MD and CEO Amitabh Chaturvedi has said. The 82-year-old bank plans to open 66 branches by the end of this fiscal.

Mutual funds and venture capital businesses will also be launched to scale up its overall business, he said in a press release issued here recently.

The bank has 254 branches and 224 ATMs. As on March 2009, the bank had a deposit base of Rs.4,969 crore and its advances stood at Rs.3,245 crore.
