KOCHI: Asia Rubtech Expo, an exhibition focusing on the latest technology and allied matters in the rubber sector, will be organised in Kochi by the Indian Rubber Institute from November 23 to 25. Papers will be presented by experts from India and abroad.
Top class manufacturers of synthetic rubber and testing equipment would participate in the exhibition and seminars, said P.K. Mohammed, chairman of Indian Rubber Institute. About 700 delegates would participate in the programme. More than 40 speakers would address the meet, he said.
The programme assumed significance in the wake of more international companies coming to India, he said.
The per capita consumption of rubber in India was 0.9 kg, which was too low in comparison to the consumption in developed countries.
The IRI would conduct a diploma examination with the support of IIT, Kharagpur, he said.
