Sets up a new ‘green’ facility in Bangalore

CHENNAI: Virtualisation software has allowed many users to reduce their hardware assets and use them more efficiently by running multiple “virtual machines” side by side on the same hardware. This software has enabled IT firms to be more flexible and cost-effective. Of late, virtualisation has been moving beyond mainframes and servers and found its way into applications, networks and storage.

Bangalore-based Frontier Business Systems Pvt. Ltd, an IT infrastructure solutions and services company, has decided to expand its virtualisation services business in India.

On this line, the company has set up a new state-of-the-art green facility in Bangalore at an estimated investment of $4 million to support its expansion plans.

This completely green building has a total area of over 14,000 sq. ft. and will house over 250 employees. It will also house the green data centre, according to S. Arunachalam, Business Head (Virtualisation and Application Delivery), Frontier Business Systems.

Mr. Arunachalam said the company had recently added virtualisation consulting solutions and services across entire spectrum of servers, storage, network, application platforms. It is an authorised consultant for the U.S.-based VMware for Asia South region.

He said the company was now evangelising the green concept to the market to help companies improve operational efficiency, control rising costs, and improve speed and resilience.

The company has a network of ten offices across India. Its technology partners are IBM, VMware and Cisco.
