HYDERABAD: Perot Systems Corporation of the U.S., a leading IT solutions healthcare solutions provider, has firmed up plans for expanding its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region starting with India.

Perot Systems, which registered $2.8 billion business last year, despite adverse market conditions, has initiated steps in this direction by opening its facility in Hyderabad. The 24,000 sq. ft. facility, sixth in the country, will deliver a variety of engineering services, including heavy equipment design and analysis as well as engineering change management and manufacturing support.

Announcing the initiative, Perot Systems application and process solutions group President Anurag Jain said the company’s order book was strong with $985 million new business signed in the first quarter of the current financial year.

Mr. Jain, who is Perot’s Managing Director for Asia Pacific region, however, said revenues from the region contributed less than two per cent of the total and Perot had, therefore, focussed on expanding its capabilities.
