NEW DELHI: MTS, the mobile telephony service brand of Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd (SSTL), on Tuesday launched pre-paid high speed data service ‘MBlaze’ with free use of a few websites. MBlaze subscribers will get speed up to 3.1 Mbps at a charge of just 10 paise per MB.
Addressing a press conference here, SSTL President and Chief Executive Officer Vsevolod Rozanov said: “MBlaze will be available in the eight circles that MTS has launched its services and will be made available in Mumbai in December. There will be no roaming surcharges while using data services on the MTS network. As many as 26 cities will be covered by the MBlaze service by the first quarter of 2010. All MBlaze tariff plans allow free Internet browsing of websites such as Yahoo, Wikipedia and Makemytrip.”
“Data services are going to expand beyond the metros with people demanding real time information and knowledge. We see the market expanding beyond the corporate user to include small and medium enterprises and students,” he added.
