The Hindu has shown an impressive pace of growth of 42.5 per cent in readership in Delhi in the second quarter of 2012 over the corresponding period of 2011, according to just-released figures of the Indian Readership Survey 2012. The Hindu has achieved a readership of 161,000 in 2012 Q2, adding a whopping 48,000 readers over the figure of 113,000 during the same period last year. There has been a continuous growth in The Hindu ’s readership in Delhi since the second quarter of last year.

Across India, The Hindu gained 131,000 readers. This represents a growth of 6.3 per cent in national readership as compared to the corresponding quarter last year. The publication’s current Average Issue Readership (AIR) is 22.08 lakh. Once again, The Hindu retains its position as the most-read English daily in South India and the third largest English newspaper nationally.
