In the first round of ‘Pulse Polio' this year, coinciding with the National Immunisation Day, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy administered drops to children at his Camp Office here on Sunday.

Recalling that the State was polio-free since 2008, he appealed to all concerned to work with the same spirit to achieve ‘zero polio' status across the country by the end of 2012. In all, 63,776 booths were set up and 1,864 mobile teams pressed into service to help administer polio drops to children in the age group of 0 to 5 years.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy also released a special brochure to be used in a publicity campaign on the occasion.

A press release from the CM's Office said the second round this year would be on April 1.
