Dharam Singh spoke to Lalu Prasad: MP
BANGALORE: Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh is said to have urged the Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to consider Belgaum as the new starting point of trains that are now originating from Hubli.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Belgaum, Suresh Angadi, said this after leading a delegation of Belgaum Kannadigas to the Chief Minister. The delegation submitted a memorandum.
Besides Mr. Angadi, the delegation consisted of former Mayor of Belgaum Siddana Gouda Patil, editor of "Nadoja" Raghavendra Joshi, president of Belgaum District Kannada Organisations Action Committee Ashok Chandaragi, veteran freedom fighter and Gandhian H.S. Doreswamy, scholar M. Chidananda Murthy, and literary critic L.S. Seshagiri Rao.
Mr. Angadi and Dr. Chidananda Murthy told presspersons that Mr. Dharam Singh promised to speak to the Railway Minister again on the issue.
Mr. Dharam Singh has promised that the Government will take measures to strengthen the infrastructure of all Kannada schools in border districts.
