Bangalore: The uncertainty and confusion over the transfer of power is expected to dominate the BJP State office-bearers’ meeting and the State executive to be held here on Saturday and Sunday respectively, though both the meets have been called primarily to discuss the ways and means of strengthening the party organisation.
According to sources in the BJP, the party leadership might come out with a resolution on the political scenario in the State, especially the issues related to transfer of power, in a bid to remove confusion among party workers. Such a resolution, which will be drafted at the Saturday’s meet, is expected to be adopted at the party State executive on Sunday.
Yashwant Sinha, who is in charge of party affairs on the State, and senior leader M. Venakaiah Naidu will attend the State executive.
Though Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has repeatedly made it clear that he would stick to the power-sharing arrangement, the opposition from some Janata Dal (Secular) leaders to it has paved the way for uncertainty.
What has added further confusion is the dissidence within the BJP to the leadership of Mr. Yediyurappa.
There are also reports that some Lingayat leaders have already started holding parleys among themselves as well as heads of Lingayat religious institutions to chalk out a strategy to ensure that their community leader (Mr. Yediyurappa) does not miss the opportunity of becoming Chief Minister.
