Petrol price was increased on Friday by 75 paisa a litre and diesel price by 50 paisa as the rupee hit an 11-month low, making oil imports costlier.

The increase, excluding local sales or value-added taxes, came into effect from midnight, Indian Oil Corporation said.

Petrol price in Delhi was increased by 90 paisa to Rs. 63.99.

Diesel would cost Rs. 50.25 as against Rs. 49.69 at present.
