: Actor Pawan Kalyan lashed out at TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao for stating that people from Seemandhra had no right to contest from Telangana and asserted that nobody would keep quiet if he continued to talk in the same vein.

Speaking at the ‘NDA Vijay Sankalp’ rally at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Tuesday, he sought to remind Mr. Rao that former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, who hailed from Telangana, had contested from Nandyal in Seemandhra, while Indira Gandhi had contested from Medak.

Anybody could contest from anywhere in the country, he added.

He said the manner in which the State was bifurcated was leading to such problems and some leaders were trying to create differences among Telugu people, which was not good for the unity of the country.

Taking a dig at Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, he said he wants to become the Prime Minister.

The country needed a strong leader like BJP prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi and not weak and dynastic leaders.

Observing that common man was suffering under the UPA rule, he gave a call for “Congress Hatao”.

During his entire speech, Mr. Pawan Kalyan did not mention the name of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who however, acknowledged the presence of the film actor when he spoke.

Mr. Naidu said he had no doubt that Mr. Modi would be the next PM.

While hitting out at the Congress and TRS he said the Congress had ruined the country and the UPA failed on all fronts.

Win-win combination

Claiming that TDP-BJP alliance was a win-win combination, he said

Hyderabad was put on international map during the TDP regime with the cooperation of NDA.

He said Telangana State would now have surplus budget because of the development efforts during TDP regime.

Mr. Naidu said there was a need for TDP-BJP government in Telangana and expressed confidence that the alliance would come to power.

Wondering what the TRS did for Telangana, he accused it of perpetuating family rule.
