A conclave of Nair Service Society (NSS) Director Board members and taluk union presidents, vice-presidents and secretaries here on Thursday decided to snap ties with the Congress party. The decision comes in the wake of the inability of the national leadership of the Congress to sort out the issues precipitated by the actions of its State leadership by breaching an understanding reached between it and the NSS.

The meeting accepted the stance taken by NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair that the office-bearers of the organisation who hold public positions extended by the government should choose between any one of them. Nearly 250 office-bearers of the NSS across the State participated in the meeting, which was chaired by Mr. Nair.

250 office-bearers of NSS participated in the meeting.
