The Special Task Force of Kolkata Police has handed over the investigation in connection with the arrest of Sadanala Ramakrishna, head of the central technical team of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), and four other members of the outfit to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), senior police officers said here on Monday.
NIA officers also met Somen Mitra, head of the Special Task Force.
“We have handed over investigation in the case relating to the arrest of Sadanala Ramakrishna and others,” Mr Mitra told The Hindu .
Mr Ramakrishna, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, and others were arrested here in a joint operation of Kolkata Police and the Andhra Pradesh Police.
They were produced in a city court on March 1. They were booked under charges of waging war against the State and several sections of the Arms Act.
According to the police, large amount of cash along with components of rocket launchers were recovered from their hideouts.
