HYDERABAD: The State government would soon unveil an exclusive policy to attract global business in aerospace sector, Chief Minister K. Rosaiah has announced here on Wednesday.
Speaking at a function organised to felicitate V.K. Saraswat, Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister, he assured that the government would provide all support for the development of upcoming Aerospace SEZ at Aadibatla on the city outskirts.
Chairman, Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council, C. Rangarajan hailed Dr. Saraswat’s contribution in the development of the country’s missile systems “which have become the envy of every other nation”. Emphasising the important role played by technology in shaping the society and economy over the past few centuries, he urged scientists and entrepreneurs to join hands in pushing economic growth.
Eminent statistician Prof. C.R. Rao and Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad, Seyyed E. Hasnain also lauded Dr. Saraswat. Dr. Saraswat, who is also the Director-General, Defence Research and Development Organisation, declared that DRDO had embarked upon focussed and mission-mode technology projects with a view to meeting customised requirements of the armed forces. He said the challenge ahead was to make sure that dependence on foreign countries was reduced to the minimum and new technologies, including nano science were put to use effectively.
