Ahead of the December 3 visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to Manipur, the United Naga Council (UNC) lifted its 100-day blockade of two national highways. But it warned that it would resume the protest if the government did not make an “alternative arrangement” for the Nagas in Manipur. While UNC president Adani did not say why the blockade was lifted, sources said it was done keeping in mind Dr. Singh's and Ms. Gandhi's visit. — PTI
