It recommends revocation of suspension on three MLAs
The House committee appointed by Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Dilip Walse-Patil to probe the cop-legislators fracas that repeatedly disrupted the proceedings of the State Legislature last month has found two legislators guilty of assaulting Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Suryawanshi.
However, the report, submitted to Mr. Walse-Patil by the committee on Thursday, exonerated three other members charged with assaulting the cop and recommended revoking their suspension, while charging Mr. Suryawanshi with “rude behaviour” to elected representatives.
The committee, headed by veteran MLA Ganpatrao Deshmukh, recommended a departmental enquiry against Mr. Suryawanshi.
While Mr. Walse-Patil read out the major recommendations, he did not allow any discussion on them and said that the government would study the report and take a call on the matter in the Monsoon session starting July 15.
