The team was returning after bilateral meet in Myanmar

A delegation of civil officials and Superintendent of Police Priyokumar Elangbam of Chandel district had a narrow escape when insurgents detonated about eight bombs at Khundengthabi near Moreh, a border town, at 1.40 p.m. on Thursday.

Mr. Elangbam and the other officials were returning after a meeting at Tamu in Myanmar to discuss bilateral issues.

Seven men accompanying the SP sustained shrapnel injuries, some of them life-threatening.
