New Delhi: With the intensity of the Gujjar agitation coming down, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil on Friday reviewed the situation arising out of the 14-day protests in Rajasthan.
At a meeting, attended by National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan, among others, Mr. Patil discussed the pros and cons of granting Scheduled Tribe or de-notified tribe status to the community.
The meeting comes as the Centre prepares its reply to Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje’s letter to Prime Minister recommending 4 to 6 per cent reservation for the Gujjars. — PTI
