Seemandhra employees not to call off stirwithout concrete assurance

The AP Non-Gazetted Officers Association and Secretariat Seemandhra employees who are agitating since the last 52 days have ruled out calling off their agitation for keeping the State united without any concrete assurance from the government.

The APNGOs’ decision was conveyed to the High Court where arguments were going on since the last five days over a Public Interest Litigation filed against their agitation. Association president P. Ashok Babu, who attended the court on Saturday, told media persons that they would not withdraw their strike till the government issued an announcement with clarity on their demands. Meanwhile, the APNGOs were invited for talks by the Cabinet sub-committee headed by Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy at the Secretariat on Sunday at 11 a.m. “We will continue our negotiations with the government. We cannot expect a solution in the first meeting itself,” he said. Mr. Ashok Babu reiterated that the Seemandhra employees would stick to their agitation programme as per schedule they announced.
