New Delhi: Amid growing differences between the ruling coalition partners the Congress and the PDP, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and apprised her of the political situation in the State.

Mr. Azad briefed her about the stand of State Congress leaders over the PDP's tirade against the alliance partner, which has grown manifold after the PDP's defeat in the Assembly bypolls held in April this year, party sources said. The PDP has been accusing its alliance partner, the Congress, of supporting its rival candidates from all the three Assembly seats Patan, Sangrama and a seat from Kupwara district as the party lost two of the three.
