Agartala: Fake currency worth Rs.3.5 lakh was seized and one person was arrested in this connection in North Tripura district by security personnel, police said on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Tripura police and Assam Rifles intercepted a jeep at Kanchanpur town in the district and recovered the counterfeit notes in the denominations of Rs.1,000 and Rs.500 and arrested the driver. On interrogation, the driver said a person gave a packet to him at Dharmanagar town of the district to give it to a kerosene dealer. The dealer is absconding. — PTI
