Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday said TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu should voluntarily subject himself to a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Talking to reporters here, he said the CBI had agreed to probe the land allocation at a low price, made by the then TDP government to IMG Bharata for creating sports infrastructure. Late former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, had cancelled the deal and sought a probe by the CBI. The agency had expressed its inability, citing shortage of staff. But now it had come forward to probe the deal under the directions of the High Court, he added.
Mr. Reddy disclosed that the State Cabinet would be expanded soon. Consultations were on with the party high command. Special Correspondent from Hyderabad adds: Hitting back at Chief Minister, TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy criticised him for being ‘ignorant’. Mr. Revanth Reddy recalled how, on the basis of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), people like auditor Vijay Sai Reddy were behind bars. When the YSRC and TRS lodged complaints, the name of Mr. Naidu was not included in the list of accused/suspects.
It was clear as to how the administration/governance would be if a person like Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy were allowed to continue as Chief Minister. He recalled that in 2006 itself, the ACB had dismissed a petition, saying it was a policy decision to allot land for IMG Bharta and also that if there were any irregularities, the allotment could be cancelled.
