To ensure that the Corporation gets the 24x7 drinking water supply scheme sanctioned from the Central Government, the civic body has decided to appoint a transaction advisor.

A resolution passed at last Thursday’s Council meeting says that the transaction advisor will help the Corporation confirm the details in the detailed project report - the type of pipelines to be laid, their quality, the location of the overhead tanks, their capacity and height – and also supplement it technically while explaining the project to the State and Central Governments for sanction of funds.

In this regard, the Corporation decided to have a transaction advisor at a meeting held on April 23, 2012, got the Council’s approval in this regard on June 1, 2012 and floated tenders thereafter.

Four companies – one each from Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai bid for the same. After considering the technical qualification, the bid value and other details, the Bangalore-based company was the top.

Thereafter, the Corporation officials negotiated with the company representatives to bring down the price and finally the company had agreed to charge the Corporation at Rs. 46.50 lakh for the service.
