A police constable's family was shocked to find its house in Krishnanagar of Banjara Hills burgled after returning from the marriage reception of his daughter in Karimnagar.

The thieves sneaked inside the house of Yadagiri Shetty, a constable with City Armed Reserve, by breaking the lock of the back door. They managed to open the almirah and took away Rs. 5 lakh and gold ornaments weighing 200 grams, the Banjara Hills Detective Inspector S. Prabhakar said.

Shetty's daughter was married off three days ago. He and his family members went to Karimnagar to attend the reception on Sunday. They returned on Monday only to find the house burgled.
