A constable of Nacharam police station died during the 3-kilometre run organised as part of monthly physical fitness test on Saturday.

Forty-five-year-old Sattaiah, along with other colleagues, was taking part in the run held on the premises of Indian Institute of Chemical Technology when he collapsed after covering one km. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

“The doctors said he suffered a massive heart attack,” Nacharam Inspector S. Ashok Kumar said.
