NEW DELHI: Overnight rain in parts of North India on Wednesday compounded the misery of the people reeling under a cold wave which has claimed 351 lives so far this winter.
Uttar Pradesh, where the mercury dipped following rains, accounted for all the fresh 25 deaths, official sources said, adding that the State alone accounts for 325 casualties.
Shimla in Himachal Pradesh and Mussoorie in the hills of Uttarakhand had snowfall on Wednesday much to the delight of tourists and locals.
Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh experienced light overnight rain even as the minimum temperature rose by two to three notches above normal. - PTI
