HYDERABAD: Alleging ‘match-fixing’ between Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu, Praja Rajyam president K. Chiranjeevi on Saturday said they were only hoodwinking people to keep power between themselves.

Addressing a mammoth ‘Praja Vijaya Bheri’ rally at the Parade Grounds here, he said the two leaders who were criticising each other all day, became good friends by night. “And the only thing they have in common was ‘corruption’, although of different magnitudes. After all, they are from the same school (Congress),” he said. Mr. Chiranjeevi launched a scathing attack on Dr. Reddy and Mr. Naidu for suppressing reports of several commissions of inquiry ordered during their respective regimes. Mr. Naidu, in fact, went ahead to gift Dr. Reddy a power plant for withdrawing cases against him in court.

He launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the Telugu Desam for ‘neglecting’ the backward classes in allotment of party tickets. I will give the BCs more than 100 tickets. he said.
