NEW DELHI: A two-member team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will leave here for Argentina on Wednesday, armed with an extradition request to bring Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi to India.
The team, consisting of the Director of Prosecution and a Superintendent of Police, will reach Buenos Aires on March 1, and present the extradition request to the Government of Argentina the same day.
Argentina has appointed Dr. Carlos Guilleremo Daneri, Public Prosecutor, to plead the case on behalf of India. The CBI has the option of engaging another attorney, if need be.
The matter would be heard in a federal court in the province of Misiones, a CBI release said on Tuesday.
