NEW DELHI: A phone call claiming that a bomb had been planted aboard a Mumbai-bound flight led the security agencies at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here to search all planes before take-off on Monday. However, no explosives were found during the search.
It is learnt that the call was received at Indian airline's telephone exchange in Mumbai. According to sources, the caller claimed that a bomb would go off aboard a flight arriving from Delhi. Immediately Mumbai airport officials alerted the IGIA authorities here.
The committee for threat analysis quickly probed details of the call following which all Mumbai-bound flights were checked by bomb disposal squads deployed at the airport.
