HYDERABAD: Making a fervent appeal to Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao to call off his indefinite fast, Chief Minister K. Rosaiah expressed willingness to hold negotiations with the TRS leaders on any issue that was under the purview of the State government.
“I am ready to discuss with Mr. Rao and those who accompany him any issue which they feel is pending with the State government.
But separate statehood to Telangana is not in my hands,” he said.
Expressing concern over the health of Mr. Rao that was leading to tensions and inconveniencing the people, he said separate statehood could not be achieved through such agitations.
Mr. Rosaiah said the issue was under the active consideration of the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre and intense efforts were under way to evolve a consensus within the UPA and outside.
