Rains bring cheer to Delhiites

Rains lashed the national capital on Wednesday afternoon bringing cheers to Delhiites, who have been reeling under intense humidity, but water-logging and traffic snarls turned out to be the spoiler.

Rain gauges recorded 10.7 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. though the maximum and minimum temperatures were one degree each above normal levels.

While the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.6 deg C, the minimum was 27.8 deg C. Rains hit the capital around 1.30 p.m. and continued for nearly two hours affecting traffic movement in several areas such as ITO, Laxmi Nagar and Barakhamba Road.

The sudden rains brought much-needed relief to the people, who have been experiencing intense humid conditions in the past few days. — PTI
