With high-tech laboratories, it will offer five courses
Bharathidasan University College in Perambalur will act as the postgraduate extension centre to cater to the higher educational needs of rural students belonging to economically-weaker sections of the society.
The extension centre, with high-tech laboratories, will provide adequate opportunities to both rural students and the faculty members to take up research programmes.
Students completing undergraduate courses in five subjects of the Bharathidasan University College in Perambalur would immensely benefit through the extension centre, said K. Meena, Vice-Chancellor of the University.
The extension centre would offer five courses —- M.Sc. (Computer Science); M.Sc. (Information Technology); M.Sc. (Mathematics); M.Sc. (Micro-biology) and M.Sc. (Biotechnology). Students in and around Perambalur shall have access to these high-tech laboratories for their higher studies and research projects.
“The objective of identifying the college as PG extension centre is to ensure quality in higher education,” she said.
