KOCHI: Health authorities will be taking random blood samples of the increasing number of fever cases in the district.

This was decided at a review meeting held here on Monday in the presence of Anil Kumar, Additional Director, Health, in-charge of supervising the district health services.

It was also decided that fever clinics will be set up if the number of cases increases beyond the current level of about 700 cases being reported every day.

The medical officers and supervisors of the 19 block primary health centres participated in the meeting.

The officials were also asked to report warning signals of any disease cluster in an area.

Dr. Kumar has asked for keeping alert with precautionary measures like vector control measures.
