CHENNAI: Even as a four-year-old boy died of swine flu at a private hospital here on Monday, the Tamil Nadu government reassured the people that the situation continues to be “normal.” Officials have asked the public not to panic, as the situation is “well under control.”
Of the total of 52 positive cases, 12 are undergoing treatment and the others have been discharged. There are adequate testing kits and a stock of over 25,000 doses of Tamiflu in the State. Schools have been advised not to shut down, officials said. Private practitioners have been summoned for a meeting to impart information on treatment protocols.
