New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who underwent surgery of the prostate gland at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here on Saturday, is recovering well.
“There is nothing to worry. His health is fine,” the Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Sanjaya Baru told reporters.
Dr. Singh, 75, was admitted to AIIMS at 6 a.m. and the surgery lasted till 9 a.m.
The Prime Minister will take rest at the AIIMS and return home by Monday morning.
President Pratibha Patil spoke to the Prime Minister on phone and wished him a speedy recovery.
Several Cabinet Ministers and friends too sent him ‘get well’ messages. — PTI
