HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that the people of Telangana had enough of the misrule by various parties so far and it was time they carted their own path of governance.

Addressing a dharna camp organised here on Wednesday by TRS demanding withdrawal of a Government Order that sought implementation of micro-irrigation systems on lift-irrigation schemes, Mr. Rao warned that the real struggle by the party against rulers started from today.

The TRS would finally taste victory. It would continue the agitation till the GO was withdrawn, he said.

Rhetoric

Mr. Rao repeated his rhetoric against the present Congress and previous Telugu Desam regimes for neglecting irrigation in Telangana. He described the GO on micro-irrigation a draconian document.

He challenged Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah to prove if the GO justified Government’s claim that accorded high priority to Telangana in irrigation.

The TRS chief predicted the fall of Congress Government in the same manner as Telugu Desam.

Key role

The TRS will play a key role in the downfall of the Government.

Both the Congress and TDP Governments deceived Telangana in irrigation sector, he added.

Several leaders of TRS, including MPs and MLAs, addressed the day-long dharna at Indira Park. It continued despite a spell of heavy downpour.
